Bay Area Week
After two weeks working on my projects and four all nighter nights a trip to the bay was what I needed, but God didn’t make it easy for me. As stressful night of cleaning and making a second “NY Vs. LA” photo book for my school to review, I was late for my flight. The airline book me on a later flight to Denver. Everything seemed all good until they started to call my airline to Oakland and they haven’t called my name for standby.
I start buggin’ out. Finally they call my name along with some J.A.P. (Jewish American Princess). One ticket prints…but the other doesn’t. Okay? What the fucks going on? Turns out that it was her ticket and my shit wasn’t coming up because the lady back in Chicago didn’t register me on the flight I just came from. So they close the gate and she tells me to go to customer service…which had a mad long line. This was 9 PM in Denver and no other flights were leaving…or were on their last limbs. I ended up catching a SF flight while my luggage go over to Oakland.
I arrive in SF sleeping it throughout the whole 2.5 hour and rushed straight to the Oakland airport to get my bag, but the office was closed. Fortunately both my bags were there. We leave and get some In & Out.
The next morning my sister and I drive back to Oakland to get my shit. The door was locked and I went over to someone in United where the counter lady was diggin’ me. Too bad she was 50+…I think. Girl was mad hustling, which is funny cause I looked like shit. The office opens after 15 min. of waiting and we bounce back to Berkeley. We get dressed and head to the city where my sister needed a graduation outfit. We go to H & M, which I have to say for a huge two-story building have a crappy selection for guys. After that we go to the Levis store, but nothing was there. We did see this hilarious pair of jeans with a nine-foot inseam.
We head back to Berkeley because my sister and her friend was cooking this huge Filipino dinner for a couple of her friends and if you’ve been to a Filipino dinner, you know how shit is poppin’. The food was too good, but unfortunately we loved it so much that we forget to take a photo of all the food.
Then next day was to hit up Haight and Ashbury. Some real serious shoppin’ shit..and stupid me I forget my camera. So I had to improvise with the sidekick
camera. Whatever works to capture the situations.
My sister gets angry at me for leaving not only my camera, but also her camera in the car back in the Berkeley BART station.

…and she gets in the way with my other shots (oh yeah our friend Lindsay came along)

on the bus to Haight

Nothing special happened on Haight. We were actually on the rush rush since my sister was getting her hair did. Stussy didn’t have anything special. I picked a sweet shirt by Free Gold Watch and a pair of Diesel’s in Villan’s Vault.
Trying to get something to eat at a grill restaurant called Asqew we bounce due to the mad laggin’ situation. We go back to Union Square to get some Clam Chowder breadbowls and I’ve never seen so many Macy workers that were Asian. I swear I was in the Philippines. My sister heads to her hair appointment and the nerd I am heads to Borders to read something about Dan the Automator coming out with NEW Deltron album. Then I get a message that Panic wants to meet up. I wait on the square where hella people are chillin.

Panic arrives with a special guest whom I haven’t seen since December, Carl Sturgess. He was down filming St. Ours for the Heat video. We all head to a watch shop, which was closed so we head to the mall. Carl went to see a girl at this hair salon and Panic worked his magic in the front desk.

Panic still was after a watch, which I thought he’d wanted a real Cartier watch, but he went for the next best thing. We stop at one of the cart shops that’s selling the heavyweight jewelery…

…and picked up two peices

Because of the two for one special, Carl and I decided to go along with the deal. Passing up the Jordan watch, the 50 watch, the 2 Pac watch, and the dollar sign spinners, I ended up getting the clean whites.

All of a sudden Tommy Boy comes through. He touches my back and i stare at him thinking, “What the fuck? Is this Tommy Boy?” He was a bit left out because he didn’t get a peice…I think.
We end up walking back to Union Square and Tommy Boy was unleashed. First off he sees a bunch of people waiting for the limo and asked them if it left..I think and a tourist bus strolls by and he puts up west side!

My sister, her new hairdo, and I head back to Berkeley to meet up with a couple of her friends for sushi. Turns out that there was a funny Laos sushi chef who went by the name of Mini Van because he crashed a mini van…I think. Anyway, Andrew is a pretty big guy and they arm wrestled, but Mini Van took him out.He was saying how it wasn’t all about strength, but then he was also drunk.
Then he went to a bunch of stories where one time five Vietnamese surrounded him with guns and Mini Van had two. He tried to shoot one and it got stuck on him, a shot fired and scratched his stomach. He started firing one of the guns he had and everyone ran off. I don’t know how much of the truth that story was, but he was very entertaining.
Afterwards we went to some asinine bar where some chick mad passed out on the floor coming out of the bathroom.
After debating if I should head to the city again or stay around for 3 hours, I ended up roaming around Telegraph. First stop was a sweet store called Momoca. It’s a hole in the wall place where Tomoko Tsuchiya creates everything in there. They also have Bape gear here for a reasonable price. I did find an awesome sweatshirt I picked up created by an awesome designer name Jasko who is working on a website coming soon for his fashion line Official Tourist. They’ve also done a collaboration with Adidas in Haight where Adidas would give them the sample fabrics and they would chop and screw it up. Huf is also carrying some of their products as well. They are two of the friendliest people you could ever meet. Tomoko is going to Paris soon for inspiration and I directed her to the headquarters of Artysm, La Bouclard.
Afterwards, I went back to my sister’s place and didn’t do anything until the hunger pains came in. I wanted sushi so I called my sister up we hit up Taco Sushi and I get 16 Spicy Tuna rolls, 9 Dragon rolls, and 6 avocado rolls. I had to force her to eat at least 2 of the spicy tuna rolls along with all the avocado rolls. I was the fullest.

We head up to meet up with Eli and Jeff (two of the people we met up last night) for some coffee. Eli ended up rockin’ this three dollar bape shirt he got back in China with him not knowing what it was.
…and regardless of some of the rumors that girls are ugly in the bay, there are a couple.
…actually the ratio was 1:3. But at least they exist.
Jeff also revealed his plasic wallet called the Jimi
The night ended with me watching the first season of “The Office” and reading. Tomorrow (which actually means today) I plan to head back to the city. Hopefully I could skate…oh wait. I’m skatesless until Friday. Til next time, ciao!

Hearing about that Filipino dinner got me excited … pansit, lumpias, halo-halo … i’m there!
i want to go to that store
