A while ago posted stills on Ucon working on a video comercial and now it finally arrived. An amazing job by Clip founder Lukas v.Monkiewitsch.

Current TV followed Mos to Osaka and performed an acapella version of the song “Casa Bey” from his new album The Ecstatic, coming out June 9th. Mark your calendars. Also, I keep seeing Current looking for new motion designers and i’m glad to say they’re stepping shit up over there with some good looking visuals.

Update: Because it leaked, the album got pushed back to August 24th.

Passion Pictures, the same people responsible for the Gorillaz animation, have blown my mind with the intro to The Beatles Rock Band edition.

In NY, it’s definintely feeling like summer already, which scares me because I’ve heard the horror stories of how wack the weather can be here. Regardless, the new Ucon gear has been released and they are pretty fresh. The vibrant colors and animated illustrations compliment the season. For those breezy California nights near the beach, they’ve got you covered with a thin windbreaker and for those who still rock them sweatpants, or what I now like to call Cookie Pants. The ladies are not to be forgotten with the Elle line. Download the catalog at the Ucon site now.

Being in New York has been exciting yet a little agitating since I haven’t landed any work. However, I got not one, but two surprises in the mail today. One was from my mom, who sent me a box of college food, ichiban noodles (for some reason, I can’t fuck with Top Ramen brand), the filipino ensaymada pastries, and a bag of dried mangos. The second was from my cousin, which sort of wasn’t a surprise, but it was because I totally forgot she was sending me something so it kind of was. It was a sketch book my cousin got when she sent in her photo to be drawn by Michel Gondry. She wrote, “to record your dreams in. enjoy!” since I told her I’ve been recording my dreams on the iPhone’s Notes app. I won’t use it for that, but I’ll use it for something useful. Thank you mom and Krisha!

Today is the Manifest, the urban arts festival in my former school Columbia College. I would have liked to attend it, but instead I am working on freelance work alone in my new location at the Bronx. However, my presence in Manifest will not only be by spirit, but also in button form. Last week I attended the ADC portfolio review and made these buttons. My good friend Jason Frohlichstein was kind enough to distribute my buttons in Manifest, even though my elaborate plan for me to use a computer and stream myself via ichat would have been awesome, but I didn’t want to put that burden on him or any of my other friends while they were stressing over their own table for Manifest. Regardless, if you are going to Manifest, make sure to look for me my buttons and take a piece of me with you. The button shown is to commemorate Manny Pacquiao’s win over pretty Ricky by using my logo and combining the essence of the Filipino sun. There are other buttons as well, so if you can collect them all.

In the Bronx, the cable is cut off, but Matt and I are managing. I needed to see the Laker games, win or lose and I hate going to bars just to watch a game. I subjected myself to find live streaming radio stations, but happen stumble on live video streaming…without some kind of payment! Where the fuck was this when I was in Chicago? Oh well, I can now support my team. Go Lakers!

btw: Lakers are up 64 to 39 at the half. We’ll see if they can keep it up. ’sigh’
